Help Shape the Right to Food: Call for Evidence

- 2 min read
The Right to Food Commission is inviting people across the UK to have their say on one of the most urgent issues of our time: food justice.
Launched by Ian Byrne MP, the Commission is working to build a clear, evidence-based case for making the right to food a legal reality in the UK, ensuring that everyone can access nutritious, affordable, and culturally appropriate food with dignity.
Why This Matters
Across the UK, millions of people are struggling to afford basic groceries, rely on food banks, or are forced to skip meals. This is not just a cost-of-living issue—it is a question of rights, fairness, and social justice.
The Right to Food Commission aims to:
Gather real-life experiences from individuals and communities
Understand the scale and causes of food insecurity
Develop recommendations for policy and legislative change
Make the case for embedding the right to food into UK law
Your voice is essential in shaping this work.
Take Part: Share Your Experiences
The Commission has launched a Call for Evidence survey, giving you the opportunity to share your views and experiences directly.
