Unleash the Power of Nature: Join Hampshire Forest Partnership’s Tree and Hedgerow Planting Schemes for Winter 2024/25!

As winter fast approaches, a fantastic opportunity arises for nature enthusiasts and community-minded individuals! The Hampshire Forest Partnership invites community groups, charities, councils, farmers, and landowners to participate in their tree and hedgerow planting schemes for the winter of 2024/25. Not only does this initiative enhance the natural beauty of our environment, but it also contributes significantly to long-term environmental goals that benefit our ecosystem.

With climate change creating ever-growing challenges, it is essential to support efforts that restore and protect our planet. By joining the Hampshire Forest Partnership, you can help create a greener, healthier future while enjoying various social benefits.

The Environmental Impact of Tree Planting

Trees and hedgerows are vital to our landscape and the environment. They help reduce flooding risks by absorbing excess rainwater and can lower localized flooding incidents by up to 30%. Additionally, trees naturally improve air quality.

Planting trees and hedgerows also boosts biodiversity. They provide homes for countless species, including over 70 different bird species, various insects, and small mammals found in local woodlands. The more diverse the plant life, the healthier our local ecosystems are, which can lead to up to a 75% increase in local wildlife populations.

Engaging in tree and hedgerow planting has both ecological benefits and positive effects on community well-being.

Building Stronger Communities

Participating in the Hampshire Forest Partnership’s initiatives extends beyond the simple act of planting trees—it brings people together. These collaborative events cultivate camaraderie among residents and organisations.
